$50 billion in GST collections split between the States and Territories

The Australian States and Territories' governments are not uniformly happy with how the Federal government has chosen to allocate to them the annual share of GST collected. In particular, the Premier of the State of Victoria has critised the way the GST pot is divided. The most recent figures show that the amount of GST collected annually is approximately $50 billion.
